Epoxy soybean oil, as a kind of PVC plasticizer with no odor
and toxicity, is quite stable in light and heat environment, with
a molecular weight around 1000, which is much higher than those
of common plasticizers. So it is volatile resistant and uneasy
moving and dissipation in PVC products. Such features are good
for keeping products’ stability from light and heart and expanding
products’ life. The oil can be used for all soft and hard PVC
products. It can not only boost products’ price, but also strengthen
the processing and physical performances of products, which provide
essential conditions for non-toxic PVC resin entering packing
industry.
NO.2、Basis for specifying technical data：
Epoxy soybean oil can be widely used as plasticizer and stabilizer
for PVC, with nice stability from light and heat, good compatibility
with PVC, having low moving, volatility and no toxic. In U.S,
it is allowed that iodine value＜6.0, epoxy value ＞6.0, acid value＜0.5
(mg. potassium hydroxide/mg.), volatile matter and water ＜0.3（125℃×3
hours）, iodine value≤6.0. Epoxy soybean oil with flash point ＞220℃
can be used for foods packing materials, which is more widely
adopted for non-toxic PVC products in our country. Related parameters
are determined according to market study and users’ option.
NO.3、The same kind of product function comparison：
In family of plastizer, epoxy soybean oil has a special performance,
i.e. it can plasticize PVC, stabilize active chlorine atom in
PVC chain, and immediately absorb HCI degraded in light and heat,
so as to retard continuous decomposing of PVC and keep it stable.
In plastic processing industry, plasticizers used before mainly
were DBP, DOP, etc. These plasticizers play an extraordinary role
in producing common plastic products, while their toxicity has
far exceeded the scope that human body allows for plastic foods
packing materials. As non-toxic PVC technology is developed, epoxy
soybean oil emerges as an initial non-toxic plasticizer, which,
with fold-proof, can improve impact resistance of PVC products.
PVC products for outdoor use, after applied with epoxy soybean
oil, can play a distinctive resistance from light, heat and aging.
